I am an experienced healthcare management consultant with highly-developed skills in data management, NHS data and financial analysis, modelling, workforce planning and project management. I’m very familiar with Health Informatics within Primary, Secondary, Tertiary and Mental Health Healthcare Markets and have become an expert in analysis and modelling within the healthcare market.

I have been working in health consultancy since 1996 providing management of analysis resource planning and project management tasks. I have worked with very well respected Health Management Consultancies providing Associate services for their NHS and Independent Sector clients. I have a Masters in Health Planning Policy and Finance from LSE & LSHTM and currently manage 10 skilled Senior Analysts and the Information Security of UnitedHealth UK.

My initial job within UnitedHealth was to manage a team of 6 Senior Analytic Staff.

 

As part of the Commissioning and Consulting team, we work closely with Clinical experts, Project Management and Development departments to build innovative solutions to commissioning issues within the NHS PCT’s. We offer ‘savings’ though analysis of appropriate care, correct data exchange with invoice validation, Clinical Audit, Case Management, Risk Profiling, bespoke analysis and Contract Negotiation. Within the Business Analytic Unit I am working towards a clear plan of integration with clients and colleagues building services that compliment and enhance the standard analytic function such as actuarial skills and economic analysis. A multi-disciplined project role that is responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of various projects for clients. Required to have an understanding of the Clients’ needs and aspirations to be able to support and deliver Bupa Health Dialog’s vision and strategy.

 

I have been providing Subject Matter Expertise with Projects involving Primary Care data extraction identifying risks/issues impacting the schedule and also Project Management for a London PCT rollout of Bupa Health Dialog’s SMART OA product. I have assisted in the development of the SMART OA and the inclusion of tools for a commissioning perspective. I provide training for PCT and Practice staff on the SMART OA for commissioning and Case Management use.

 

I assisted in the development of the internal delivery process, the ‘aftercare’ client satisfaction surveys, and in the development of the internal Generic Commercials Pricing Model.

 

Senior consultants also are central to the Bid management process providing input for the content of proposals and support to the Bid e.g. facilitating workshops, identifying what needs to be done, dealing with 3rd parties. Arbitration Manager / Finance Administrator. Initiated & managed the North Thames Arbitration Service for intra-NHS debts. Provide training to North Thames Trusts finance staff for the financial monitoring software. Development and upkeep of the Capital Investment Database. Finance Officer I was responsible for maintaining the financial records of the Charity and its commercial trading arm. l acted as Head of Finance in his absence, Managed a team of 4 staff. Produced monthly management reports for the Board of Directors and managers. Managed the financial arrangements and security for all the special events fundraising.

 

 

1990 ‑ 1993

Shortlife Community Housing Ltd. (Registered Charity)

Chairman and Treasurer. I oversaw the management of the housing association with a turnover of £1m+ having 550 housing units and 10 fulltime staff. I introduced a hierarchical management structure from a collective structure and was central to trading the company out of an insolvent situation into a position of financial stability. Within two years as chairman and treasurer I, along with the management committee, negotiated a merger with a larger housing association, this provided tenants with better housing conditions and security of tenure.

 

 

1985 ‑ 1990

Temporary Employee for Reed Accountancy Agency

I spent my first few years of employment working for Reed Accountancy. This proved to be a very interesting and quite lucrative period, working for companies such as Reuters, Sheerson-Leahman Bank, Elders IXL and other contracts. I specialised in Taxation (both personal tax and Double Taxation Treaties). I also worked on the IPO for a number of companies working within Midland Bank. The temporary Market collapsed in 1990 with the beginning of a recession whereupon I started looking for permanent employment.
